Blessed Mother Mary: Our Spiritual Intercessor in Addiction Recovery

Every step we take while trapped in the cycle of addiction, Jesus has been with us. And so too has the Blessed Mother Mary.

Honoring today’s Marian feast day, the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God, we bring to light Rosary 4 Recovery, an exploration of the four sets of rosary mysteries and the spiritual fruits they offer as we or our loved ones begin on the path to recovering from addiction.

Addiction touches all of our lives.

We may have experienced the destructive forces of addiction in our own daily lives, or we may have watched or experienced how addiction can threaten to destroy the lives and relationships of those we love.

Every step we take while trapped in the cycle of addiction, Jesus has been with us.

And so too has the Blessed Mother Mary.

Through Rosary 4 Recovery, we seek an alternative path of recovery with the support and guidance of our divine spiritual mother, as Jesus experienced in his own path to the cross, death, and resurrection.

Observed through a Marian lens, we will examine the life, lessons, and illumination of her Son, Jesus Christ, Yeshua ben Joseph, and apply those learnings to the journey of addiction recovery.

All while knowing the Blessed Mother is also with us each step of the way, interceding for our prayers for sobriety, for recovery, and for a healthier, more balanced, and more peaceful life.

In future meditations, we will further explore:

  • The Blessed Mother’s intercession in addiction recovery for our soul and the healing of our mind and body

  • How the Blessed Mother provides a nurturing presence on the journey of addiction recovery

  • Each of the 20 mysteries of the rosary, including their narratives from the life of Jesus, their spiritual fruits, and how these lessons can support us along our path of recovery and sobriety

Heartfelt gratitude and appreciation for being here and sharing in this moment of devotion and hope.

May we all feel more deeply connected to Jesus Christ through the awesome power and presence of the divine mother.

And may the Holy Spirit be with us, tending to the fires in our souls and illuminating for us the divine wisdom taking root in our hearts and minds, as together we free our souls from the confines of addiction.
